Brittany Peng
Former Chief Executive Officer 2020-2021
Student at Georgetown University, District of Columbia
Brittany's core passion lies in community engagement. She intends to pursue a career in politics and government in her future. Having recognized the minimal amount of Asian American representation in United States Government, Brittany dreams to become a politician in some sort of local public office or the United States Congress in order to increase and advocate for Asian American representation.
Preparing herself for this future role, Brittany became a community organizer and leader of the VOICE-IAF Teen Team in 2018 to tackle the issue of youth mental health in the Northern Virginia region. She has political activism experience at the Virginia General Assembly for youth mental health and United States Congress for campaign finance reform. Additionally, Brittany has been a cellist since age 9 and has played with numerous groups including the McLean High School Philharmonic Orchestra (2017 - present), McLean Youth Orchestra (2016 - 2017), Philadelphia International Music Festival Chamber Ensemble (2017), National Philharmonic Senior Summer Institute Orchestra (2017-2019), and the Cappies Gala Orchestra of the National Capital Area at the Kennedy Center (2019).
Brittany also pursues her passion for community engagement in the music field as the Regional Director of the "Back to Bach" Project Northern Virginia Region, an organization that aims to inspire children to get into music education. In her free time, Brittany enjoys hiking, drinking boba, playing the cello, watching political debate archives, and engaging in conversations about world issues.
