Susan carries an understanding of the ramifications of conflict and war which guides her work. She has a fervent desire to learn all she can about a plethora of societal issues and their intersections, so she can develop a recognition of the structures of and interactions between different communities, organizations, and systems.
Susan is a senior at McLean High School and is passionate about advocacy, community outreach, and education. She became a member of the LeadPeace team in order to connect with a broader community and work with inspiring youth to promote peacebuilding and leadership. As the daughter of an Iranian refugee, Susan carries an understanding of the ramifications of conflict and war which guides her work. She has a fervent desire to learn all she can about a plethora of societal issues and their intersections, so she can develop a recognition of the structures of and interactions between different communities, organizations, and systems. Outside of LeadPeace, Susan is the co-president of her school’s Girls’ Leadership Committee, where she organizes several workshops and networking events to empower girls in and around McLean. She also orchestrated a Menstrual Product Drive in 2021 which raised over 64,000 products. Susan is an avid student and dedicated athlete and has committed to Boston University to play Division 1 Soccer.
