Xuan Huynh’s work focuses on youth development and providing equitable opportunities for disadvantaged communities. She preaches “your experience is your expertise” and encourages youth to give themselves more credit and dream bigger. Passionate about peacebuilding, she wove all her interests together to spearhead LeadPeace.

Operating the organization has fostered Xuan’s growth as a community leader and uncovered her love for mentorship. She has extended the scope of her influence to include racial justice efforts, and she joined a group of inspiring BIPOC females to present at Fairfax County Public School’s (FCPS) Equity Symposium 2020. She has been honored the Princeton Prize Certificate of Accomplishment (2020) for her work to advance racial equity and the Fairfax County Student Peace Award (2019) for her work to promote understanding and respect for all people.

Xuan is currently a freshman at Elon University where she intends to major in business and double minor in poverty and social justice and women, sexualities, and gender studies. She plans on applying her business skills to the social justice sphere to increase financial literacy among women and other underprivileged groups.

In her free time, one of Xuan’s favorite activities to do is picnic. In a field or patch of grass large enough to fit her blanket, she can be found reading, painting, or listening to music. She also enjoys discussing world issues and appreciates perspectives that broaden her own.
